China to introduce smart home devices, apps in 2020

China will introduce a wide range of smart home products in 2020, including door locks, smart bulbs and smart speakers, the country’s leading electronic retailer, CNET reported on Monday.

The company said that it is working on a range of products, including “smart locks,” which are similar to the existing locks that can be purchased with cash.

“China is the second largest market in the world, and this will give us the opportunity to deliver innovative products in China,” CNET quoted Wang Jianwei, chief executive officer of CNET Media, as saying.

The smart home industry has been growing in China, with sales of smart products rising by 8.4 percent in the first quarter, Cnet reported.
