SmartThings, the smart home automation startup, is expanding its platform with new features for the Philips Hue smart home hub.
This means it now supports Hue bulbs.
But there’s a catch.
It can’t yet support Philips Hue bulbs with the Philips HomeKit platform, which is still a work in progress.
Philips Hue’s integration with SmartThings has been a long time coming.
In the meantime, Philips Hue Hubs can still use the Philips HVAC Control app to remotely control your thermostat and smart lighting.
SmartThings will release the full list of supported Hue bulbs on July 24.
The Hue Hub is one of several smart home hubs that now support Philips bulbs, including the Hue, Hue+, Hue, Echo, Hue+ and Hue+ Plus.
Other hubs support Hue bulbs from other manufacturers as well.
Philips Home is the only hub with an official Philips Hue plug-in for the Hue hub.
Philips said that it will support Hue Hub owners through its Home and Smart Hub apps.
But for now, Philips has not announced a price.
The Philips Hue hub supports three types of bulbs: HVAS, Hue bulbs, and HVC bulbs.
You can set up your Philips Hue lights, thermostats, and smart bulbs on the Philips hub.
You’ll need to be in the Hue Hub’s Home app and have the Hue app installed on your phone.
