In an interview with CBC News, the founder of the Xiaomi smart home speakers company, James Ng, said that he believes the speaker will be able to change the way people interact with their homes.
“I want to create a world where it’s easier for you to enjoy life, but also for you and your family to enjoy your life,” Ng said.
He added that the company is also exploring a new way to communicate with users and get feedback.
Ng’s smart speaker has a built-in microphone that allows it to communicate directly with users through an app.
“When you are doing something, you can tap the microphone button and you can hear what they are saying to you,” Ng explained.
“It’s like you are talking to someone in your room.”
“If you are a smart speaker, then you can see how your speaker is performing and it can show you the data you are getting from the sensors inside the speaker.”
Ng has been working with the Chinese tech giant for more than a year to develop a smart home solution that is affordable, simple and allows the user to customize the home.
He said he’s also been working on a speaker that will work with existing smart home devices.
“So we’re going to have a speaker for the smart home, and we’re also working on the speaker for your home, as well,” Ng told CBC News.
Nu said that the first smart home device will be unveiled in the fall.
